The colour is a deep red with brick red hues. The aroma shows an intense blend of primary fruit and some wonderful complex characters due to time in oak and bottle such as licorice, menthol, rhubarb, red berry fruits, leather, chocolate, spiced meats and nice earthy notes. The palate is full flavoured, elegant and well structured with firm fruit and oak tannins. There is both a richness and ele-gance about the wine which is initially quite understated, but soon opens up to display its true powerful nature. The excellent concentration, tannins and acid balance in this wine will ensure long term cellaring enjoyment for many years to come.
