“Named after the beautiful old Bush Vine Grenache vineyard owned by mates of mine in McLaren Vale. The Grenache component in this wine is hand picked to best preserve this glorious old vineyard. We have been taking fruit from this block for many years and it’s one of our favourites.” – Geoff Merrill
The aroma shows savoury spiced meats and wild berry fruits.
The palate is soft and mouth filling with fine fleshy fruit on the mid palate. Good acidity and structure completes the wine ensuring it is very drinkable indeed.
Great with pizza, steak, BBQ and sweet/spicy Asian beef.
VINTAGE INFORMATION: More vigorous canopy growth during bud development in 2011, ensured fewer bunches per vine and lighter bunch weights for the 2012 vintage effectively dropping yield rates 35 – 50%. For the most part, growing conditions were optimal right through the growing season with a few temperature and rainfall events which caused some anxiety. Immediately following the high temperatures was some cool weather and a large rain event which slowed down ripening and allowed the vintage to progress at a good rate.

“A 45/45/10% blend with a powerful motor driving the mouthfilling plum, black cherry and blackberry fruits on offer via the bouquet and palate alike. If you want a SGM blend with depth and a cheerful resonance, this is for you. It has developed slowly, looking more like a 2yo than a 5yo wine, and has time to go.”
