The complex aroma displays licorice, spice, chocolate and tobacco notes with clean complementary oak.
The palate is tight and linear, with fine tannin, bright fruit and balanced acidity on the finish. Ample structure and tension on the palate ensure this wine will develop with further time in the bottle.
Enjoy with BBY lamb loin chops, wagyu steak, lamb shanks, beef shank, Swiss brown mushrooms and BBQ Spanish Mackerel cutlets.
VINTAGE INFORMATION: Preceding winter and spring rains were significantly lower than previous years, reducing crops by an average of 30% across many varieties in McLaren Vale. Fluctuating temperatures in January and rainfall in February resulted in a pause in vintage allowing ripening to occur at a more manageable rate. By the end of vintage, our fruit had more time to ripen properly, resulting in very good flavour concentration, acidity and structure.
