The aroma is light and fresh, showing nectarine, lime, apple, rockmelon and fresh cut straw notes.
The palate is zesty, vibrant and flavoursome, filled with stone fruits, gooseberry and finishing on a clean citrus note.
VINTAGE INFORMATION: Very little rain during Winter and Spring affected the deep down soil moisture, important for fruit development later in the season. Generally the crops were reduced over the whole of McLaren Vale with a great range of reductions experienced due to the diversity of the region and grower experience. Once into the ripening phase, the weather was generally optimum for ripening with only brief extremes being experiences. These however were more damaging where canopy growth was reduced due to lower soil moisture. The older and more resilient varieties such as Grenache did fare better than others. The main positive is the flavour concentration and depth of colour, which in most varieties is absolutely outstanding and 2019 will be a vintage to remember.
