Geoff's Christmas Message 2020

What a year!! As we get ready to relax with our families and recharge the batteries, Geoff thought it was time to jump back in front of the camera.

So here it is...

Geoff's Christmas message for 2020.

Dancing Queen Riesling

“Dancing Queen sure is no ‘has been’ teasing with a Riesling.”

The colour is a very light straw with subtle green hues. The aroma is delicate and fragrant, with fresh lemon and lime, lavender, rose petal and green apple. The palate has a vivid, zesty acid line running from start to finish. Ripe Tahitian lime flavours come forward and warm into Granny Smith apple and pineapple.

"Enjoy with Coffin Bay oysters, steamed scallops, garlic prawns, King George Whiting, Japanese Oyster mushrooms with miso."

Feeling fresh, vibrant and playful? Drink a Dancing Queen.

Georgie May Chardonnay

“Georgie May walks the tightrope of life sipping a kardonnay while the judge gives her a pardon, ay?”

The colour is a brilliant pale straw with youthful green hues. A very clean peach and nectarine note comes forward with kaffir lime and fresh cucumber lift. The palate begins with a gentle and delicate melon flavour which grown and fills the mouth with nectarine, mandarin and lime flavours with a fine creamy texture. The finish is long and fruit juicy leaving you wanting more.

“Enjoy with roast chicken, light duck and quail dishes, tempura prawns and chicken caesar salad, margherita or prosciutto pizza.”

Feeling bright, confident and lively? Grab a Georgie May.

Charley Rose Dry Rosé

"Charley Rose with a flower up her nose, drinkin pink, you’d suppose.”

The colour is a wonderfully delicate light pink with a hint of salmon in the glass. Very fine, clean delicate aromatics. Fruity red berries, floral/rose petal notes and some Asian spice. The first impression on the palate is the wonderful balance of this wine. The subtle juiciness at the front, the seamless mid palate and pin point acidity on the finish come together as one. The light silky texture and great flavour makes this a very drinkable wine indeed.

“Enjoy with Atlantic Salmon, pan seared scallops, tuna sashimi, BBQ vegetable skewers, soft goats cheese and charcuterie.“

Feeling cheerful, fruity and fun? Choose a Charley Rose.

Grumpy Gramps Grenache

“Grumpy Gramps sitting in a chair, twirling his mo, tossing Billy in the air."

A youthful red with good depth and purple hues. Dark cherry, black pepper and blackberry come through initially on the aroma. This then relaxes into a more rounded dark fruit and spice character with time in the glass. The palate opens with complex spice, earth and red berry flavours and fine grippy texture. Then a wonderful mid palate unfolds as the wine warms in your mouth filling the 'wings' with luscious fruit. The acidity is balanced without adding astringency to this generous McLaren Vale Grenache.

“Enjoy with twice cooked duck, spring lamb rack, a seared tuna or mackerel steak, grilled portobello mushrooms.”

Feeling spicy, cheeky and complex? Get a Grumpy Gramps.

Saint Nic Shiraz Cabernet

“Saint Nic the little prik, under the green ash tree, laughing at me.”

A dark red with good depth and youthful hues. Bright licorice, mulberry and black cherry come forward, with tomato leaf, herbs and violets finish off this highly aromatic red blend. The cool vintage condition in 2017 has produced a fine tannin structure, length and cleansing acidity in this wine. Red berry flavours are well in place amongst the grippy texture on the mid palate. The wine begins to soften and open up revealing a lovely rounded, supple and generous mouthfeel that will only get better with time.

“Enjoy with BBQ lamb skewers, fat Italian sausages, sautéed mushroom with garlic and parmesan, Angus beef burger, sticky pork ribs.”

Feeling bold, youthful and smooth? Sink a Saint Nic.
