2009 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

“Approx. 14 months after vintage, Geoff and Scott undergo a blind tasting to select the finest barrels from our Coonawarra and McLaren Vale vineyards that make the grade for our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. These barrels are blended together in tank then returned to a variety of new and seasoned American and French oak hogsheads for additional maturation prior to bottling.”-Geoff Merrill

Wine Reviews:

93 points -James Halliday (Australian Wine Companion)

"51% McLaren Vale and 49% matured for 3 years in American and French oak. Has retained very good hue and depth; this is a good wine, but why use American oak with Cabernet? It's so obvious on the bouquet, although the power of the wine carries the oak (both American and French) along with its river of cassis and choc-mint fruit."
