2014 Botham Merrill Willis Shiraz

Sir Ian BothamandBob Willisare two of the biggest names in the modern era of world cricket. Geoff Merrill’s reputation on the International stage of winemaking is equally impressive. A mutual passion for their respective professions, cricket and wine, drew them together during the English tour of Australia in 1978. Since then a lasting friendship has developed over many bottles opened and balls bowled.

Wine Reviews:

94 points – Ray Jordan (The West Australian)

“Two of the people were all-time cricketing greats - the other is well, the other is Geoff Merrill. This is deeply concentrated and lavishly textured with all that blackberry and plummy fruit flavour, augmented by largely American oak. It’s spicy and starts to show some quite delicious leather features as it ages. Mighty good little wine this.”

94 points – Sam Kim (Wine Orbit)

“This is instantly appealing on the nose showing dark fruit richness combined with seductive notes of vanilla, cedar and warm spice aromas. It is wonderfully delectable and satisfying on the palate, displaying excellent concentration and intensity, backed by silky texture and polished tannins. 5 stars.”
