2019 Bush Vine Grenache Rosé

“Named after the beautiful old Bush Vine Grenache vineyard owned by mates of mine in McLaren Vale. The fruit in this wine is hand picked to best preserve this glorious old vineyard. We have been taking fruit from this block for many years and it’s one of our favourites.” – Geoff Merrill

“Geoff Merrill has been making bright pink roses just like this for 40 years, grenache the vehicle, with 6 hours on skins the start; a juicy but dry finish.”

92 points – Campbell Mattinson (The Winefront)

“This has been on a pretty good run of form. It looks red and vibrant but it tastes dry and earthen. Spicy too. It’s a good modern-day rose. It’s pushed along by redcurrant and florals but a chalky tonic-like savouriness give it that extra edge.”

92 points – Sam Kim (Wine Orbit)

“Bright and fabulously lifted, the bouquet shows sweet raspberry, Gala apple, rockmelon and floral aromas, followed by a finely textured palate that’s juicy and refreshing. It’s pristine and lively with a lengthy crisp finish.”

91 points – Huon Hooke (The Real Review)

“Deepish hot-pink, fuchsia-like colour. The aroma is fresh and clean and simple, berry-like and fairly shrill, while the palate is full and rich in fruit, subtly fruit-sweet in the centre and finishing drier. There are herb-tinged raspberry Grenache flavour and plenty of weight. It concludes with a gentle grip. A good wine to match with heartier Rosé-matching foods. A very good wine in a bigger style.”
